One Response to “1 Day Workshop”

One aspect that we should probably consider is how we use the technology and data to enable humanity to flourish. Much of school life is consumed with accountability, marking, managing groups of people, etc. Many of these aspects can be the domain of smart software. We generate data trails every time we are online, so the “where are we, what are we doing” side of accountability is taken care of: when students are in the library, everyone knows what they were up to. In this way “playing the game” of school is over. Great. But is this Big Brother?
I suggest it could be “Big Mother” – an omniscience that has the students (and teachers) best interests at heart. Everyone knows they could get “caught out” and gets on with learning.
So – our job is to do something significant with this freedom from mundane tasks. My “solution” is CEQ-ALL (seek all) to encourage meaning.
