I am an Early two's teacher from Education First ( First Steps International Academy, Weston, Fl.). And we use the thinking routines with our children. I use several thinking routines with my children (I see/I think/I wonder, I see/ I sense/ I Explore/ I discover, What makes you say that, Thinking keys, Step inside). At this point we model the language of thinking and use it most of the time ( direct activities, gropu activities, potty training, snack/lunch). It is inclredible what you can get from your children even though they are not speaking too much but they can express by pointing or moving and you use the words (to model speech)to help them get the language. It has been a wonderful expreince. We also schedule workshop for parents to go beyond the classroom...it is thinking for life!

Hi Tom

Enjoyed your presentation at the MCG on Tuesday. Was not able to attend your other workshops unfortunately but have heard great things about them and colleagues are keen to share what they learnt.

There are a huge number of challenges that we must work through for systemic changes to occur if we are to true teach our students in a manner that prepares them for the future. Unfortunately I think there are a large number of the school leaders who are just so overwhelmed by the size of the overall change required that they don't know where to start so they don't.

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for looking in on CEQ•ALL. I'm excited about working with you again and seeing what you've been up to at your school. Thanks also for the pointer to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Use_of_Knowledge_in_Society" rel="nofollow">Friedrich Hayek's work</a>.

Cheers,

Hello Tom
Just to let you know that I have been doing my homework!!!
Your CEQ.ALL schema is very interesting and I look forward to learning more about it. I congratulate you on another "product" based on your unique combination of analysis and creativity. I recently visited the Hwa Chong Institution - a school in Singapore where the pursuit of a passion is a core value and educational outcome; where groups of students work on projects outside of the regular curriculum, and this work is valued at least as much as the subjct based learning; and where a large group of Year 9 - 10 students do not have "classes" at all but work in an unstructured environment with the assistance of mentors. HCI has, to some extent, implemented CEQ.ALL without knowing about it!

While I understand and in many ways agree with the "open source" analogy, I also see some limitations. To take a rather clumsy example, I have no idea whether the source code of Wikipedia is "open" or "closed', but who cares, what is important is Jimmy Wales rather extrordinary implementation Hayek's vision by making the <strong>information</strong> completely open. I would prefer the term "Open Information" or "Contributory Community" to get it away from coding/programming. What do you think about Wikispaces?
