Possibly the best idea!
Thursday, November 8th, 2007I think it will be fun to raise money. You can let your imagination run free and find a creative way to raise money. A Free Dress Day would be really fun. Pepople could bring a gold donation.

So what if your not allowed to go to the party this weekend, or get that sexy pair of new jean? When you go to sleep tonight in your warm nice bed they settle down onto hard ground. It is so sad to see what some people and most importantly children have to cope with. All they wish for is food, a single toy or something to help themselves and their family through sickness. Many children die from malnurtrion every day. Just think about this each time you throw a tantrum because your Dad said that you could have an extra $20 for shopping.
Here are some picture. and dont worry if you dont repost a clown will not enter your bed a 11:03 and kill you, like every second bulliton on myspace tells you. :]

I know that a lot of us get home from school and are hungry or even just bored and dont even think twice before opening the pantry door and snacking on what ever we feel like. I know i do. I also know that sometimes i and other people i know dont eat all their dinner and then 20 minutes later the pantry doors open and we are there snacking on apples and other food. Every week we spend hundreds of dollars on food, which half of it we dont even need. If you look at the picture of those poor people with their amount of weekly food, is the amount which some people eat in one day in the more fortunate place. Im not saying that you have to limit your food as much as that poor family can afford but next time you go shopping, think do i really need this or is it just something i feel like. If we were to cut down on the money which we spend on food and material needs which would have much more money to give to the less fourtunate. This would make their lives a lot easier and there is nothing better than the feeling of giving.
I know that everyone reading this can manage their money, to give and still have a comfortable life as they are reading this on a computer.
So JUST THINK
We take advantage of the things we have. As soon as we get money, we waste it. We gamble and we buy things they don’t really need. The people in Chad, Nigeria are starving, and we are just wasting money. People should have two money banks. they could put 20c in the money bank. when they have a lot of money, they could donate it to the people in Nigeria.
While we live in Heaven, they live in Hell. The people in Nigeria have virtually nothing. They starve, they wear rags as clothes and they don’t have much drinking water. We could do only so much to change that. We could sponsor a child in World Vision. We could go out in Nigeria and build a well. But we waste our money instead.
Next time you get money, what will you do with it?
Ithink that it is really sad that so many people live through out the day without any food or fresh water. looking at my life and comparing it with somone that lives in a third world country i feel like such a self centred pig. Many people throughout th world have enough money to live happily and still support somone less fortunate than themselves. i think everyone should consider this next time they ‘need’ something that is purely a want.

we have so much more than people in poverty-stricken countries. People in Australia are so well off but still have diseases like obesity. this disease is the cause of having to much food. In poor countries people are suffering from malnutrition. This disease is the cause from not having enough food. If people decide not to eat as much then they could donate money or food to the people that are suffering the most. This means that you won’t eat as much to get obesity and you could save one person from malnutrition.
Besides you live longer.

In relation to the post made by jennylu, ‘Hungry World’, i saw in the article that the American Family ate 71 dollars worth of junk food a week! Junk food ruins your body, increases the chance of getting diabeties and is a serious waste of money. That money could feed some poor family for weeks. It makes me feel bad, because our country might be small than some 3rd world countries, yet the majority of Australians and Americans al have the amount of food they need to live on and more. I just think that we need to cut down the unecessary things, and give more to our fellow human beings.
I think we need to assess how we spend money. Imagine spending $71.60 on junk food alone! That is very bad…
If we are going to spend like that, don’t spend at all!!

Having a look at these pictures make me feel really bad.
Looking at the pictures of the food people eat and compring the quantity of poeple, and the quantity of food is revoulting.
A family of 4 has almost three times as much food as a family of 6 has.
And, lookng deeper into the picture, the house of the people from Chad is made of canvas! Imagine living in a tent for your life with pretty much no food, and this is how these people feel.
Think twice next time you thow out your broccli just because you don like it. That could be a meal for some.
Take a look at the four case studies from the book ‘Hungry Planet’. Which families food intake for the week most resembles that of your family? What do you think these stories tell us about the state of the world in differing countries?
